You may shoot an opponent like 6 times and feel like you are doing fuck all. One complaint of the combat system i have is that it is really choppy around 30% of the time. The weapon system is already complex, but to make it even deeper, there are different ammo types. As far as i know there isn't any Detailed In-Game tutorial for this. Example? Well, i'll just show a before and after picture of the ADAR. You can remove some parts, and swap set parts to suit your needs. To add to that, The weapon modding is the best i have experienced. All weapons behave differently but some do feel similar i.e Kalashnikov Rifles. This game has a metric shit ton of weapons, which i love. I do have some complaints, but the positives do outweigh the negatives. Don't Believe me? Play factory for an extended period of time. You can get a good idea of where people are on the map just by the sound. These factors get Multiplied by the Great sound design. Or you choose not to fire, but before you get to unscope you get scared shitless by some Russian AK ninja sneaking behind you and blowing your fucking skull of your shoulders. If you fire you expose yourself and the player may try to retaliate. You need to be aware of your surroundings. If you don't, you may just thank yourself. If you choose to fire, a large portion of the players will get an idea where you are. What armor do they have, Do they have weapons worth getting, are they in a group. There are a lot of things you want to be aware of. A good example of this is engaging an enemy that isn't aware of your position. Only complaint i have is the lack of any tutorial for these advanced controls, especially with the looting.Īs a Hardcore game, there is a lot of emphasis on spatial awareness and Cause and effect. You can either slowly adjust them with Scroll or you can rapidly change them from their own controls.
The Movement itself is smooth, mainly the speed and stance controls. By Holding alt you enter the Blind fire mode, you can control which way you want to fire with WASD. For example take the Blind Fire mechanic. The Movement and Combat controls are intelligently mapped from the get go. There are so many ways to engage enemies in different scenarios. The Maps also put an emphasis on this via elevation and alternative routes. You need to always be prepared to face a hostile, no matter where you are. Killing others in this game is nearly always a risk. This equipment is always at risk when in game as if you don't have your items insured, when you die, you lose everything on you other than your pouch. On your main character you pick your equipment like your Rig, armor and everything in between. The Gameplay consists of loading into a map, taking out a few foes, looting and getting the fuck out of there. The DLC is the only thing i may want but i'll buy it when it comes out.ĮFT is a hardcore shooter that puts a lot of emphasis on tactical movement with it's complex movement system. Yes it is nice to get more stuff, but it is not needed. And for the people that don't know a lot of the game, The game is not Pay-to-Win. I don't see a need for anything extra since you get all you need. I personally have the Standard edition and it is just fine.
